Love is more than just a word in our language. Sometimes, we speak the word to express how we feel toward someone. Sometimes, we speak it in the hope that someone will say it back to us. We all want--no--we NEED to be loved. But, for ages, people have been striving to be loved thinking love was the actions someone performed toward us based on how they felt toward us. But, love is much more than a feeling.
Love is the actual movement of the force or energy of life through us as it moves out into the world. Just as some people have defined large concepts, such as God, as a finite thing, Love, too, has been defined as a finite thing. The reason we have had so much trouble, historically, defining both God and Love is that they are both much too large for the human mind to understand. The best we can do is to allow the energy of life to flow through us, expressing it freely and unconditionally toward everyone and everything around us. In that way, we get to experience the power, the joy, the magnitude of ALL of life as it flows through us.
If we hold an image of ourselves as being conduits--pipes--through which the energy of life flows as it moves into the world, this image and the accompanying experience, allows us to feel more life as it flows through. If we think of ourselves as existing for the purpose of giving to the world, then we cannot help but be filled up as life, love, energy, goodness pass through us.
The universe tends toward life, not away from it. Accepting that life is the norm, rather than the exception, we can also accept that abundance is the norm, rather than scarcity.
